About Us
Look, parenting sucks sometimes. Never ending lists of responsibilities, chronically questioning yourself, and trying to avoid giving your kid too many good reasons to go to therapy. Not to mention all the weirdly specific stuff you never even considered... Like cleaning vomit out of the carpet stairs at 2 am while you are sleep deprived. That isn't anyone's idea of a good time.
There may even be times when you think "What the **** did I sign myself up for?"
But parenting is also an insane and incredible kind of magic that can reignite a child-like wonder -- if you let it. Because kids get EXCITED. About a lot of things. Simple, mundane, things that aren't about how much money you spent on it or how much effort went into it. Cardboard boxes? Incredible, with limitless opportunities for play. Bubbles in a bath? You, my good friend, just became a magician to your child. Childhood is filled with COLOR -- metaphorical and literal.
Something as stupid and simple as a fat chicken on a T-shirt may just help you remember that your soul hasn't been entirely sucked away by your mind numbing job. Not yet at least. Not today. Thanks, Fat Chicken.
Matching your kid's shirt might make you cringe -- or it might make you both pumped to take on today's challenges. Spreadsheets and homework don't stand a chance against your united powers (even if you have to hide yours under a business casual polo).
It's dumb things like this that made me think "Hey, I want other parents to have as much fun as I want to have getting my kid dressed."
Not because it's some perfectly curated fashion sense miniaturized into smaller sizes. You have plenty of other great options for that. This is not that place. No, this is the place for whimsy, cheeky humor, and embracing the chaos, fear, and magic that is parenting and childhood. To connect with your kids with intention and let go of some of the crushing adult expectations we face.
I thought maybe my silly little drawings and designs might resonate with other burnt out parents looking for a chance to feel a little silly themselves. To encourage their kids to be silly. So enjoy.
